With the recent total investment of 12 billion yuan China Telecom (Weibo) http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/30943.html "> Hohhot IDC Project Landing, Three major operators have announced over the next 3-5 years to invest tens of millions of yuan or more IDC projects, operators cloud computing strategic layout seems to begin to officially enter the peak of implementation.

Now, at the peak of cloud computing applications, how can companies seize the cloud as a new business model and development opportunity? How to find a higher quality, better cost-effective cloud computing services? What are the strategies for companies to choose cloud computing services? What are the problems and doubts that companies will encounter in the application of cloud computing? To this end, China Economic and information technology reporter Jinye interviewed sap on-demand solution and cloud services global vice President Wang Tianyan.

CEI: What is the focus of the enterprise in migrating to cloud computing?

Wang Tianyan: I think the first is the acceptance of cloud computing technology and concepts. People will think that software is only safe when it is installed on its own side and can be seen and touched. When putting apps on top of the cloud, people first consider security issues. The attendant problem is privacy protection. Including how to protect the data, the application is not seen by others, not to be acquired. The 3rd is performance issues. My application is installed locally and in a cloud computing center compared to whether performance can be satisfied. Security, privacy, and performance, these are certainly three points of concern when an enterprise chooses cloud computing.

CEI: In addition to the above three points, enterprises will pay more attention to cost, then how should manufacturers improve the performance of cloud services?

Wang Tianyan: The most basic concept of cloud computing is that, like water and electricity, users do not need to go to coal to generate electricity, nor do they need to build power plants to use electricity. With the cloud only pay, open an account password, there is a link can use the software. This software is paid monthly, which means that when users feel that the software is inappropriate, they can stop the service at any time, which is completely different from the previous sales model in the software industry. When the enterprise has the cloud, all you have to do is open the account. For the enterprise, one is a one-time input cost, and the other is separate cost. When a certain amount of time, the entire allocation will be very low, so from the direct cost, the cloud phase is also favorable for today's software, so many companies like this model.

CEI: Some people say that cloud computing may not be the progress of technology itself, but the transformation of a service model brought about by technological progress.

Wang Tianyan: Cloud computing is sure to bring a new service model that will revolutionize the development, sales, and use of the software industry. Everyone used to buy a software or pirated software. Under the cloud environment, you will find that the purchase is the service, you do not need to install the software, only need to open the service. This is a huge change in usage habits. On the other hand, we use the latest technology to reduce costs, so that everyone can afford the software, which is also a huge change for users. I believe that cloud computing for China will be able to quickly promote the development of information, for the global, there is a good impetus.

CEI: Is cloud computing more suitable for transactional work in the enterprise?

Wang Tianyan: I would suggest that, like key processes, especially those with control systems, don't use cloud computing to manage production systems. Because that request is too high, we all know aerospace manufacturing, its CNC lathe if using cloud computing, although can guarantee 99.999% security, but as long as there are 0.001% failures will have problems, for this situation, we do not recommend the use of cloud computing. But for the vast majority of other businesses, you can use cloud computing.

CEI: Which mode should companies choose when deploying cloud computing?

Wang Tianyan: SAP has always argued that cloud deployment is a hybrid model, that it is impossible for a business to be all on the cloud, and not all local deployments. Users rarely put production systems, which are running business-related systems on the cloud. But they tend to put development systems and test systems on the cloud. Because everyone knows that development and testing is not required every day, this can bring 30%~40% cost savings. SAP is the first to emphasize the mixed deployment of enterprises, the second is in the deployment of the product line, covering all products. Today SAP has locally deployed products, there are cloud products, there are local products into the cloud, so is a comprehensive coverage.
