The same survey found that companies of similar size do not use cloud services, they may not have enough security awareness, and the cost of transitioning to the cloud may also be an obstacle.

Microsoft's Trusted Computing 618.html "> director Tim Rains said the aim of the survey was to find out how small and medium businesses expect cloud services and what the differences are compared with companies already using cloud services.

Surveys show that because cloud services are managed by vendors, the security benefit is that cloud services it cuts security management time by 18 hours a week. Rains said: "It does not completely eliminate the need for patch management premise, but it does reduce the management of the enterprise." ”

This saves money and increases security. Because the supplier will be in time to repair and upgrade the cloud services to ensure their competitive advantage.

Survey said that over the past three years, companies using cloud services have had less than 5 times times the advantage of spending on security, with 20% of companies using cloud services saying they have reduced security management costs, but only 4% per cent of companies that do not apply to the service.

Still, 40% of respondents said safety concerns were the reason they did not use cloud services. But 67% said they would be happy to use cloud services if there were industry specifications. It can be foreseen that if cloud providers are better able to run their networks, 38% of respondents will have the confidence to buy cloud services.

One-third of those that do not apply to cloud services say costs are a barrier to their transition to cloud services.

A total of 94 small and medium-sized enterprises using cloud services and 93 unused enterprises received the survey. Microsoft says cloud computing users are defined as companies that use cloud services in charge mode, without distinguishing between different SaaS, IaaS, and PAAs products, as well as the types of data or functionality for those services.
