The legal implications of cloud security are broad and potentially huge, and people cannot give clear answers 1:30.

For example, companies that use cloud services to comply with the Symbian Act must carefully verify that their suppliers comply with Sox requirements. Companies can check whether the supplier has implemented Sox regulations and have them sign the contract, but if the user fails to do so, the supplier has reason to not comply with the relevant regulations. Nor do they realize the responsibilities that users should perform.

This means that companies are responsible for data, such as personal credit cards and social Security numbers, and retain their confidentiality responsibilities, even if the numbers are related to the service provider's cloud.

The situation will become more complex if there are regulations that stipulate where the data must be stored. Cloud service providers may have their own equipment anywhere, and they should comply with local laws wherever and wherever they are located.
