(A) Internet users personal investigation
1.1 Survey overall
China has permanent residents aged 6 and over with residential landline (home phone, PHS, dormitory phone) or mobile phone.
◇ sample size
The survey involved 30,000 samples, of which 15,000 were residential fixed-line and mobile phone users respectively. The sample covers 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government in mainland China.
◇ survey the overall breakdown

The overall survey is divided as follows:
Overall sub-A: Population covered by residential fixed-line telephone [includes: residents covered by fixed-line residential phone + PHS users + student dormitory phone users + other dormitory phone users];
Sub overall B: covered by mobile phone crowd;
Sub-total C: Mobile phones and residential fixed-line coverage of the population [residential fixed-line coverage and mobile phone coverage of population overlap, coincidence Department for the child overall C], C = A ∩ B.
1.2 sampling method
CNNIC conducted a survey on sub-groups A, B and C in order to maximize the coverage of Internet users and conducted a double-sampling method. The first sampling frame used is a list of fixed residential calls, survey sub-population A. The second sampling frame used is the mobile phone list, survey sub-population B.
For fixed-line coverage groups, a hierarchical two-stage sampling method is used. In order to ensure adequate representativeness of the samples taken, the country will be divided into 31 layers by province, municipality directly under the Central Government and autonomous regions. Samples will be taken independently at all levels.
Provinces take a sample of self-weighted sampling methods. Sample sizes of cities and prefectures (including districts and counties) are distributed according to the proportion of the population over 6 years of age covered by the urban fixed-line telephones in the province's total population covered.
For the cell phone coverage group, the sampling method is similar to that of the fixed telephone group, and the nation will be divided into 31 layers by province, municipality directly under the Central Government and autonomous regions, and all levels will draw samples independently. The province according to the proportion of residents in all municipalities to share the sample distribution, so that the distribution of samples in the province self-weight.
In order to ensure that each city and prefecture state residential phone numbers are drawn in the same chance of chance, so that more residential phone number is drawn more chances, but also taking into account the implementation of the visit to the operation of the city in the state The extraction of residential phone number is carried out according to the following steps:
Cell phone population research method is that in each prefecture and the state, extract all the phone number; combined with the effective sample size of each city and state, generate a certain number of four random numbers, and each city state phone number Combined to form a number library (bureau + 4 random number); generated random number library for random order; call to access the randomly sorted number library. Fixed-line phone group research methods and cell phone groups similar to the same is to generate a random number and bureau number composed of phone numbers, call access to these phone numbers. However, for non-repetitive sampling, only residential landline calls are made here.
1.3 survey method
Investigate with Computer Assisted Phone Access System (CATI).
1.4 survey overall and target the overall difference
At the end of 2005, CNNIC had conducted research on people unable to reach the telephone. The scale of this group of Internet users is very small. With the development of China's telecom industry, the scale of this group has been gradually reduced. Therefore, this survey has a hypothetical assumption that:
According to the study, netizens who are unable to reach the fixed telephone or mobile phone are negligible in the statistics.
(B) online survey
The online survey focuses on understanding the use of typical Internet applications. China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) conducted an online survey from June 20 to June 30, 2014. The questionnaire will be placed on the website of China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), and at the same time, various types of large-scale websites will be set up with questionnaire links, and Internet users volunteered to fill out the questionnaire.
(C) online automatic search and reporting of statistics
The automatic online search mainly performs technical statistics on indexes such as the domain name, the number of websites and their geographical distribution, and the statistics report data mainly includes the number of IP addresses and the international bandwidth of the network.
4.1 The total number of IP addresses
The statistics of IP addresses by province come from the IP address database of Asia Pacific Internet Information Center (APNIC) and China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC). The two databases have been registered and can identify the address of the province belongs to the data, according to the provinces were added to the provincial data. Since the use of address allocation is a dynamic process, the statistics are for reference only. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the national authority of IP addresses, will also require China's IP address allocation units to report once every six months the number of IP addresses they own. In order to ensure the accuracy of IP data, CNNIC will compare the statistical data from APNIC with the reported data to verify and determine the final IP address.
4.2 The total number of Chinese domain names and websites
The total number of domain names and websites in China come from:
Number of Domains: .CN and. The number of domain names under China is derived from the CNNIC database; the Chinese category top-level domains (gTLDs) are derived from data published by the domain name statistical agency WebHosting.Info.
Number of websites: probed by CNNIC based on the list of domain names. .CN and .China's domain name list is provided by the CNNIC database, and the list of domain name gTLDs is provided by the InternationalRegistered Domain Name Registries.
4.3 Network international export bandwidth
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, through the reporting system, regularly obtains the total network bandwidth exported by operators in other countries and regions in China. These data are included in the Statistical Report on the Internet Development in China.
Second, the report definition of terms
