V. Web pages

Vii. Network speed

The China Internet Network Information Center, together with partners, simulates the speed of the Internet connection through idc[7.

The specific test method is: Select China's top 20 mainstream internet sites as the target site, to the testing of these sites on behalf of China's overall internet speed. In 31 provinces and cities are selected sample points, will be divided into 24 hours a day, each hour test once, through the machine simulation access to 20 target Internet sites, get the average connection speed.

Although the broadband penetration rate of China's Wired (fixed network) users is already as high as 98.3%, the average internet connection speed of the whole country is only 100.9 KB, far below the global average connection speed (230.4 KB) [8]. The average connection speed of Henan, Hunan and Hebei in each province ranked top three, respectively, 131.2 kb/s,128.2 KB and 124.5 KB.

Only through the IDC test, may not fully reflect the use of Chinese netizens experience. Later cnnic will be adding lastmile[9] test data to more realistically reflect the average internet connection speed of Chinese netizens.
