Coffee meets pithy: Recommend a date every day
In recent years, Chinese dating sites are springing up. On these sites, however, it is often difficult to find the right person to meet the real identity of the other half. And if they don't pay, these sites often don't bring much value. A dating dating site called Coffee meets pithy solves these problems.
The idea of Coffee meets pithy is that in the dating process, the number of objects that can be chosen is not necessarily a good thing. Therefore, the site will only recommend a date to you at noon every day. After receiving the coffee meets pithy recommendation, you need to decide to "accept" or "give up" within 24 hours.
In addition, it requires users to log on with a Facebook account, while the person recommended is "friend of Friends". This "invisible" social connection can make dating safer and more successful.
This April, Coffee meets pithy was launched in New York. The company announced this week that it had completed a round of 600,000 dollars in seed financing, including Lightbank and co-founder of Match.com, a prominent dating site, Peng T Ong.
Coffee meets pithy, which currently serves only in New York and Boston, will use the latest round of financing to open new markets such as San Francisco. Coffee meets pithy has recently moved to San Francisco.
The company has been slow to develop new markets because of the need to work with local companies to sell gifts and offer promotions to couples who have been successful on the service. The service is therefore highly geographically dependent.
Arum Kang, founder of the company, said Coffee meets pithy had been successful since its launch with a monthly growth rate of 50% per cent. The service has been introduced more than 100,000 times, for the members of the actual matchmaking reached 6000 pairs. The service has a high level of user participation, and approximately 70% users use the service daily to view the recommended appointment.
"Our services are simple, private and fun," says Arum Kang, for the reasons for the high level of user involvement. Simply put, we don't bother users with a large, low pairing. We help them do these things, so that they can do things in 1 minutes a day. Privacy means that only two people who are paired can view each other's information within 24 hours, while others will not. This also increases efficiency. ”
Similar to competitor PlentyofFish.com, Coffee meets pithy service is free. But the service uses a free/paid-for-combination model, where users can buy virtual points to view their friends and partners on Facebook. Users can also win virtual points by accomplishing different tasks. Virtual points are the main source of revenue for coffee meets pithy.
In the future, the company may work with other companies to target users for targeted product and service marketing.
