After being bought by Amazon two weeks ago, Digital Comics service Comixology today has a new move--has updated its app, removed the app's purchase function, and turned it into a mere digital comic reader.

For iOS, all application purchases are canceled. For Fee Comics, there is only one "wishlist" button on the app. When users want to buy comics, they can only go to the Comixology Web page to buy. The Android platform is a little bit better, and Google play's own purchase has been removed, but it has increased both PayPal and credit card purchases.

After being acquired into the Amazon family, the purchase support of Apple and Google, though understandable, would hurt the feelings of Comixology's original users. But given the sheer volume of Comixology's digital comic books, consumers should complain for a while and then accept the change.
