Computer security experts have called on PC users to temporarily stop using IE, saying a newly discovered security flaw has caused the computer to be hacked.

"Hackers can exploit this flaw to compromise the security of the computer, and they can access all the files on the computer that the user has visited," said Tode Birzley, a computer security Rapid7 engineering Manager, Tod Beardsley. ”

"We are actively investigating these reports and will take the necessary steps to protect the security of users," Microsoft said in a statement. ”

Computer security experts say users should temporarily stop using IE. "Before the bug fixes, netizens can use other browsers to surf the internet and, of course, take the risk of continuing to use IE," said Paul Ferguson, a senior threat researcher at antivirus software Paul Ferguson.

Eric Romang, a security advisor at E-business & Resilience Pew in Luxembourg, said he discovered the flaw when he was investigating a server suspected of hacking in Friday.

Beardsley says hackers have found ways to exploit this previously uncovered security flaw to attack computers, and hackers can embed malicious code into secure Web sites that infect computers that visit them.

StatCounter, a market research firm, shows that IE is the second-most-user browser in August, with a market share of 33%. Google (Weibo) Chrome browser market share of 34%.

Marc Maiffret, chief technology officer for Security company BeyondTrust, said that some businesses might have to use IE because of applications or Web sites that are incompatible with chrome or other browsers, and they should consider making the system compatible with Chrome.
