Recently, with the outbreak of a new
coronavirus (COVID-19), the number of infections has continuously rise. To respond
anti-coronavirus support and prevent the spread of the coronavirus, China has begun large-scale
online education.
In this case, the China National Primary and Secondary School Network Cloud Platform opened by the Ministry of Education to integrate high-quality teaching resources of the country, relevant provinces, cities, and schools began to operate on February 17. It is free for local use. The opening of the online education platform aims to support local governments to do a good job of "suspending classes without stopping school" and helping students to study at home. Available for 50 million students online at the same time.
According to reports, the online education platform operated smoothly on the first day, and as of 20:00 on the 17th, the number of clicks reached over 8 million. Users cover 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) across the country. There are also users from 47 countries and regions logging in to the world. About 85% of visitors use mobile devices such as mobile phones and tablets.
Online Education Cloud Platform resources include coronavirus prevention education, moral education, special education, curriculum learning, electronic teaching materials, and film and television education. Among them, the course learning is selected from the original resource library developed nationwide in recent years, and supplemented by key teachers from Beijing and other places to record as needed, covering 12 subjects in junior high school. The course is launched on a weekly basis, with 169 sessions in the first week. At the same time, China Education Television Channel 4 broadcasted relevant primary school courses and some junior and senior high school courses to users across the country through live satellite broadcasting. The first week consisted of 75 sessions, especially covering remote rural areas with weak network signals or cable TV unreachable areas.
