It is expected that by 2018, the number of people over 65 will reach 580 million, accounting for 10% of the world's population, that is to say, an average of four Japanese people over 65 years old.

For developed countries, health care expenditure accounted for 77% of total expenditure in 2014. The market share of developing countries is expected to rise from 2014 23% to 32% by 2020.

Among Chinese people, diabetes may become the most common chronic disease, with global diabetes reaching 382 million, and one out of every four is Chinese. The total number of people will be more than the sum of Germany and Portugal.

From 2014-18, global drug spending will grow by 6.9% a year from 14 to $1.61 trillion in 18. Among them, tumor diseases cost the most.

On medical spending, genetic engineering will account for the largest proportion, rising from 2.61 billion dollars (2012) to 4.21 billion dollars (2017), or 36%.

As for the overall environment of the 2020, important prospects were also made:

1. Patients will never become masters of their own bodies and participate in health care because of their needs and access to more information.

2. New business models and concepts can erupt in large areas in the area of mobile health care.

3. Health data, market demand for related appliances and computing models increased.

4. Relevant regulation will be improved, particularly with regard to new technologies and research results.

5. The effect of advertising on drugs is expected to increase.
