The upcoming launch of the new iphone and IOS6 system has given some people a chance to see the business, and many are now evaluating iphone apps, many of which offer paid-for-expedited services. But the practice has provoked frustration among game makers.
iOS game developer Andrew Smith says it's not in the media ethic that software metrics should be charged to developers. He said that such fees for the evaluation of the site is certainly not objective, given the evaluation results are unreliable, there is a deceptive consumer suspicion.
Smith posted the comments on the website of appynation, the iphone software publisher, and cited a number of websites that took this approach.
He cited the following Web sites for the "Pay Expedited assessment" business:
Appcraver
Tapscape
Best Apps
The IPhone App Review
IPhone Toolbox
IPhone Footprint
One of the websites wrote, "We offer an expedited comprehensive evaluation business with a charge of 150 dollars." Your app will get our reviews within 7 business days. ”
The website insists that evaluating expedited operations "will not guarantee positive evaluation results"
The U.S. Press Complaints Committee noted that there is no policy to regulate the paid-for-evaluation business, which is "business matters" and not within the scope of media regulation.
