DFJ to raise up to 400 million U.S. dollars to invest in China-India and US ventures

According to foreign media reports, global investment venture capital company DFJ said it would raise up to 400 million U.S. dollars to invest in China, India, the U.S. start-up companies. DFJ is one of the global Internet venture capitalists, and in the past more than 20 years, DFJ has invested in nearly 300 companies in many fields.　　including Baidu and Skype. DFJ India's executive director, Mohanjit Jolly, said in an interview yesterday that 15% of them would invest in India.　　Since 2005, DFJ has invested about 75 million dollars in 18 companies in India. Affected by the global credit crisis, the venture capital industry experienced a downturn of about two years, at present venture capital and private equity companies began to restart fund raising. China and India have significantly higher growth rates than the rest of the world, which has attracted a large number of new investments.　　The push for Capital International Asia-Pacific Index (MSCI asia-pacific index) has risen more than 30% per cent since this year. The 1.2 billion-dollar new fund, raised by Norwest Venture, a venture capital company, is the biggest fund to emerge this year, which plans to invest in India and Israel. Greycroft's 575 million-dollar new fund is also intended to invest in start-ups.　　Alan Patricof, founder and principal partner of Greycroft Partners, venture capital, said November 23 in an interview that the venture capital fund was recovering "strongly". DFJ is expected to invest 20 million dollars in India within a year. DFJ has invested in Indian companies including Cleartrip.com and Reva Tepco car Co.
