Discussion on the migration of IT systems to the infrastructure cloud

Cloud, hot. From the low-level IP communications, IT technology to high-level information applications and content, have a "cloud" figure. Cloud computing is a new IT infrastructure and internet-based business model to meet the needs of users for low-cost, efficient, resilient mass data storage, parallel processing, software and information services. The advent of cloud computing has made a profound impact on the traditional IT system construction from many angles, such as network construction, business operation, equipment maintenance and so on.

To implement the migration of existing IT systems to private cloud platforms and the deployment of new systems, to ensure the smooth evolution of the private Infrastructure Cloud platform ("IaaS"), this paper discusses how to apply it to the migration implementation methods, processes, methods, new system deployment, system complexity evaluation, etc. The system migrated to the infrastructure cloud platform to provide a reference for the implementation of China Mobile's cloud computing.

2. Migration Implementation Method

The migration of IT systems to IAAS needs to be implemented in 3 phases, namely, analysis, design and construction, testing, migration, and expansion phases.

2.1 Analysis, design and construction phase

Collection and definition of demand lines (including IT support, business and long-term core network three lines) infrastructure new, transformation, expansion requirements: Mainly consider 1-2 years of demand, and the next 3 ~5 years of demand planning and evaluation.

Identify and define required operational dimensions, technical architecture functional components: including technical specifications, server architecture, database services/infrastructure services, concurrency processing capabilities, storage capacity and growth trends, SLAs, failure response times, change management, and more.

Rapid build supports environments that run test validation: including the underlying network, storage, and server environments.

2.2 Test phase

Component functional testing: including the application of functional module testing, high reliability testing, data backup testing.

Component integration testing: including data interaction between modules, data interaction with other systems, system security requirements, equipment failure recovery time, etc.

Component performance testing: Including system response testing, peak load, data exchange throughput, etc.

2.3 Migration and expansion phase

Development of migration processes and related tools: including system hierarchy, complete migration solutions, adequate test scenarios, good project management and corresponding it tools.

Migration Pilot Systems: for example, the migration of non-core individual systems is performed to validate and adjust the migration technology scheme.

Improve the migration schedule, including the fallback plan: in combination with the migration pilot system and the migration process, further improve the migration planning table.

System migration to IaaS: Migrate the system to IaaS by system level and migration scheduling table.
