Disney recently announced that it has agreed to spend 563.2 million of dollars to buy American social game developer Playdom. Disney is the world's largest media company, and the acquisition will expand the company's reach in the field of network and mobile gaming. Disney CEO Bob Igel Bob Iger says Playdom has the talent needed to help the company move into social media. PLAYDOM, Calif., funded $33 million in June this year through a consortium including Disney's venture capital agency Steamboat Ventures. Steamboat Ventures specializes in social media, consumer and technology companies. Playdom has financed 76 million of dollars so far. (Edit Zhang Xing)
