In 2001 and 2003, GE submitted to the Trademark Office of the State Administration for Industry and commerce the application of the "GE" trademark and the "GE logo" registration for lighting products and was approved.

Since then, GM found that, without permission, Mr. Ye had applied for the gelighting.com.cn domain name registration as a significant part of GE's trademark content on December 20, 2006.

GM believes that this makes it very easy for the public to confuse the domain name with GE's trademarks, thereby damaging GM's legitimate rights and interests.

At the same time, Mr IP highlighted "GE" in Business promotion and trade, such as GE Lighting, GE light products, and GE product recommendations.

General Electric Lighting Co., Ltd. asked Mr. Ye to immediately stop trademark infringement and unfair competition. And the gelighting.com.cn and geusa.cn and other domain names transferred to the company, compensation for 500,000 yuan and rights protection costs.

Mr IP argued that he had been a distributor of General Electric Lighting Co., Ningbo Dagang, and had the right to use generic trademarks. At the same time, the General trademark of the exclusive right to register later than his domain name registration.

Mr. Ye pointed out that the dispute was once arbitrated by the Beijing secretariat of the Asian domain name Dispute Resolution Center, confirming that the domain name belongs to him.
