DNSMASQ is a lightweight, easily configurable DNS transmitter and DHCP server. It provides DNS and DHCP to a small network service that can serve DNS naming of local computers. The DHCP server integrates with the http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/33842.html ">dns server", allowing the name of each host or centralized profile configuration to appear in the DNS and DHCP-assigned address machine. DNSMASQ supports both static and dynamic DHCP, as well as network-initiated diskless machines and bootp/tftp.

DNSMASQ 2.60 This release adds major new features including Lua scripts and DHCPv6. The scripting interface in Lua has been extended to allow DHCP scripting. The LUA interpretation is part of the DNSMASQ process, allowing the script to invoke persistent global variables. The DHCP subsystem has been extended to include DHCP that supports IPV6 addresses, and IPV6 router advertisements.
