DoCoMo will show LTE mobile phone to push LTE data service

Beijing time February 1 afternoon news, according to foreign media reported today, the Japanese operator NTT DoCoMo will be held in Barcelona this month at the Mobile World Congress to display a mobile phone using LTE (Long-term evolution) technology. LTE is based on existing 3G mobile phone technology, and will increase the existing data transmission rate by several times, at least to 100Mbps.　　NTT DoCoMo plans to release LTE data Services in Japan this year, and it is also developing prototype products for LTE data terminals and handsets with NEC, Fujitsu and Panasonic. NEC said the prototype, which was shown in Barcelona by NTT DoCoMo, will use the LTE prototype chip developed by the four companies.　　The chip was first tested in the concept data card last October, and the show in Barcelona will be the first time the chip is used for mobile phones.　　NEC said the prototype phone will be used to display high-definition video transmission in the LTE network. NTT DoCoMo has invested a lot of resources in developing LTE technology.　　The company also plans to spend 300 billion to 400 billion yen (about 3.3 billion to 4.4 billion dollars) over the next 5 years to promote the technology.
