Document viewer (evince) Open Chinese PDF display box problem

Use evince to open some PDF files, especially when you download a PDF paper in China, which is often shown as a box. Evince,okular, Epdfview PDF features are provided by the Xpdf branch Poppler. Poppler-data must be installed first

sudo apt install poppler-data

If the Wen black font is already installed, use the following method to resolve the display block problem:

sudo gedit/etc/fonts/conf.d/49-sansserif.conf

It's OK to change the serif of the fourth line to Wenquanyi Zen Hei.

It is also possible to modify the name of the other Chinese font.

Adobe Reader English

If you have installed the English version of Adobe Reader, you will need to install the Asian language Pack. Download the Chinese package on the Adobe official website and unzip the installation. The installation will require an Adobe reader installation directory to be entered, usually in/usr/lib/adobe or/opt/adobe/. If you have not installed Adobe Reader in English you may consider downloading and installing Adobe Chinese version directly
