After financing: increase investment in infrastructure

Ji Xinhua said that looking at the current domestic provider of cloud-based service providers, UCloud is the largest one. Last July, UCloud opened its Asia Pacific data center in Hong Kong and became China's first cloud computing company to go overseas. As more and more games and utility software enter the North American market, UCloud sees new opportunities.

From the beginning of the first half of this year, the pace of overseas expansion of domestic mobile game companies has obviously increased. UCloud users, the game business accounted for 20%, of which about 10% of game users have begun to go overseas. In addition to the advantages of scale and relatively stable policy, UCloud is also a key reason for choosing North American market as its second overseas market. "We mainly serve Chinese enterprises. The globalization strategy is also generated as customers expand their regional businesses rather than directly pulling overseas users."

Differentiate competition with giants: Focus on games, e-commerce

In the huge market of IaaS platform, almost every service provider can find a sense of presence as long as they can seize the opportunity of industry segmentation. As an entrepreneurial cloud service provider, UCloud's market line is perpendicular to the game, e-commerce field.

UCloud's current major competitive pressure comes from Aliyun. Ji Xinhua frankly, Ali and other large companies have financial advantages, technology accumulation and procurement costs of the three major advantages, but this does not mean that startups have no chance in the basic cloud computing market.

First, cloud computing accounts for a very small percentage of Ali's revenue. It is understood that Alibaba last year revenue 70 billion, cloud computing only occupy 7 billion. Relatively speaking, UCloud's stage is more professional, the response to the problem and deal with faster.

Second, large-scale corporate business covers a wide range of parts of the core business inevitably overlap with customers or partners, resulting in competitive pressures, adverse developments in the industry. At this point, the existence of a relatively neutral cloud computing company is necessary.

In addition, Ali cloud is more inclined to brand effect, and UCloud is more inclined to offline promotion, so pay more attention to user experience. "The bargaining power of small companies can not be compared with the big companies," Ji Xinhua believes that in the public cloud market, the larger the company has the purchasing cost advantage, there are more room for bargaining. He admitted that "we have a slightly higher cost than Aliyun and only have the opportunity to compete with big companies if we make them bigger." However, losing the price advantage is not a disadvantage for UCloud. Ji Xinhua said filtering through the price threshold Poor customers are also one of UCloud's growth strategies.

And on the technical level, UCloud launched its "fist" product in August 2014 - a hybrid cloud of physical machines + virtual machines. Because most traditional enterprises use Oracle databases to run on VMs generally less efficient, UCloud places the database on a physical machine and WebServer on a virtual machine to form a separate network. The original server can also be a direct migration of enterprises, significantly lower the threshold.

From a business perspective, UCloud initially focused on the gaming industry and wanted "first service for gaming customers." Customers in the gaming industry are more demanding in terms of stability, IO, resilience and service, and UCloud has been able to expand its competitive edge based on the rigorous control of the above four points. Lay the solid foundation for further expansion of business coverage.

In addition, sound security measures are also extremely important UCloud security work. UCloud deploys software firewalls and hardware anti-DDOS and WAF systems in the equipment room. Security measures such as ARP spoofing cloud, anti-intrusion detection and brute-force protection are provided on the network, and multiple account resources are securely isolated on the entire platform.
