Ebay concludes industry's five major development trends

April 3 News, a few days ago, ebay published the "2014 Greater China regional cross-border electricity retail export industry development Trend Report", summed up the industry's five development trends, and summarized the 2013 key data.

In 2013, the top 15 destination markets for the total turnover of cross-border retail exports in Greater China were: the United States, Britain, Australia, Germany, Canada, Russia, France, Brazil, Israel, Spain, Norway, Argentina, Italy, Greece and Sweden.

The three largest destinations with the fastest growth in cross-border retail exports in greater China are Argentina, Israel and Norway, respectively, with a growth rate of 130%, 78% and 69%.

From products and categories, the total turnover of the top five product categories in order: Electronics, fashion, home gardening, auto parts and collection category. Among them, the fastest growing three products category is: Home gardening, auto parts and fashion category.

A joint survey by ebay and market consulting firm Ipsos (Ipsos) on ebay sellers showed that 52% per cent of sellers were optimistic about future business growth and that the sellers planned to recruit an average of 8 full-time employees in 2014. Meanwhile, 68% of the respondents said they will expand the existing product category, 64% of the respondents said they will continue to expand other product categories. In addition, 41% of the respondents planned to open up more sales markets in 2014.

From mobile business data, in 2013, ebay's online trading business and PayPal business volume of mobile business transactions reached 22 billion U.S. dollars and 27 billion U.S. dollars respectively. In the fourth quarter of 2013, 40% of the total trading volume in ebay's online trading market involved mobile device use. Ebay Group mobile apps since its launch in the third quarter of 2008, the world has downloaded more than 220 million downloads, and so far 520 million items worldwide have been posted on ebay via mobile apps.
