Ericsson completes acquisition of North Power business assets

Ericsson has completed a recent acquisition of Nortel's GSM operations in North America.　　Ericsson completed the transaction on April 1, 2010 following the November 25, 2009 announcement of the signing of the North Electric GSM business Asset acquisition agreement. The acquisition, which included the transfer of important GSM operations and North American operators, further enhanced Ericsson's ability to deliver services to major North American wireless operators.　　Nortel's more than 350 employees will be integrated into the Ericsson Group's workforce in the next few months. Ericsson and Austrian operator Capsch jointly completed the bid for the acquisition of Nortel GSM assets.　　Under the two deals, Ericsson acquired GSM business assets in North America, while Capsch acquired North American-specific business assets outside North America.
