Eve, a former product manager at Microsoft Visual Studio Team Chris Granger, developed a 2.3 million dollar a round of funding to get a full cut of development difficulty.

Chris Granger was a product manager for the Microsoft Visual Studio Team. The Light Table he developed was a successful 300,000-dollar IDE environment on Kickstarter, the only development environment with more than $300,000 trillion, and one of the top 10 technical projects on Kickstarter. The goal of Light table is to reduce the difficulty of programming development, so that the IDE is not just editor and project manager, but also a real platform for developers. Light table supports a variety of languages such as Python, Clojure, JavaScript, and easy access to document ubiquity, instant feedback, drawing consoles, and code highlighting, an Open-source IDE that has won the favor of many developers.

But Chris Granger still thinks the IDE's improvements, including light table, are not enough, and these improvements only improve the productivity of developers, but still can't help people who are unfamiliar with programming to open the door to programming. In other words, the current programming environment is still unfriendly to non programmers. So Chris Granger decided to roll out Eve to try to solve the problem.

The vision is to make Eve an Excel Web application that anyone can generate software by simply drawing the interface and then moving the logic of the rows and columns in the table. Application publishing and sharing is also simple, send a link to the managed Web application can be done. Applications in the background can connect the provision of API services, through a large number of APIs, developed applications will be with Facebook, Twitter, Google maps and other integration, so as to provide powerful features. According to Ranger, its simplicity should allow an ordinary person (not a programmer) to develop a Web site as complex as Kickstarter. Of course, if the built-in logic doesn't meet the requirements, Eve can also allow the coder to use JavaScript to write custom functions.

Like light table, Granger plans to open up Eve and provide a GitHub-style collaboration environment where users can publish their own tables (logic) and custom functions to this platform, and other users who want to use collaboration, versioning, hosting, computing, and other functions, will be paid to use, so as to achieve Eve monetization.

Granger's new project has been favored by a number of famous investors who announced today that he has been from Andreessen Horowitz partner Chris Dixon, YC leader Sam Altman and the Sep to implement Google personalized search Kamvar and other places get 2.3 million of dollars in seed-round financing. As a matter of fact, many of these investors have envisioned and even worked on simplifying programming, so they are very concerned about what the project can do. Eve, developed with JavaScript, is expected to be released in early 2015, when you can see what effect Eve can achieve.
