Facebook announces employee diversity data

Nearly 70% of the company's global workforce is male, and the vast majority of employees in the United States are white and Asian. Globally, 69% of Facebook employees are men and 31% are women. 57% of Facebook's employees in the United States are white, 34% are Asian, 4% are Hispanic, and only 2% are black. Facebook did not disclose the racial divide of the world's workforce. In the Facebook technology sector, where the proportion of male employees is higher, 85% of the world's technology jobs are held by male employees, and in the United States, these jobs are mostly done by white and Asian workers.

Non tech jobs, 53% of the employees are men and 47% are women, which seems to be a fairly balanced one. This type of position remains the dominant white employee, with 63% per cent of the non-tech jobs occupied by white workers.

Facebook also unveiled a variety of corporate leadership data that seems to be a big problem. Around the world, 77% of Facebook's top executives are men, a bit better than Google's, and 79% of its top executives are male employees. And in the United States, Facebook executives are mostly white.

Facebook set up a diversity Strategy team last year and has made significant strides in employee diversity. The company has also established partnerships with groups such as American who code,the national powering's black engineers and hopes to create a more diverse and balanced work environment in the future.
