According to foreign media reports, Facebook in New York's marketing campaign announced its own mobile platform advertising program. The plan is the same as the advertising system Twitter launched to mobile users yesterday, with two of companies looking to reap lucrative advertising rewards in the growing mobile market in the future.
Facebook's advertising program is simple, and the company encourages marketers to process and modify the content of branded pages. Any information that can be placed on a company or a brand Facebook page can be advertised. And after marketers have made them, Facebook will be responsible for promoting them to computers or mobile platforms.
Although the idea is simple, it may be the only way to do it. There is not much available advertising space on the mobile platform, and excessive advertising information will seriously affect the user's experience.
In fact, Facebook's advertising system is the same as Twitter. The latter's advertising information is only a processing and modification of the message.
For Faceboo and Twitter's two companies, the mobile platform will be a key part of future development. Facebook has said that more than half of its users are using their mobile phones to use their services, compared to most people's view, Twitter is almost entirely based on the mobile phone platform application services.
But until now, mobile platforms have not yet made a profit on Facebook, and Twitter, by contrast, has only made a modest profit on the mobile platform. Back to 2004, Google has successfully completed its IPO without an open mobile platform, but it is almost impossible to accomplish today.
