Beijing Time July 29 news, according to foreign media reports, like other U.S. internet companies, Facebook in its international journey has also been the strong challenge of local competitors.

As Facebook has become increasingly popular, its "imitators" are springing up around the world. In addition to the interface to the local language, these sites provide the same core services, allowing users to post pictures, build groups, select friends and so on.

This undoubtedly poses a problem for Facebook's internationalization path. Starting in February this year, Facebook has landed in 18 countries, including Norway and the Czech Republic. In addition, Facebook plans to launch services in 54 other countries.

One of the challenges facing Facebook is how to attract more users from local imitators. In the case of the Russian market, Facebook launched its services in the market last month. But VKontakte is a well-known local social networking site in Russia, with 14 million users.

Facebook believes it can beat its rivals with a resource advantage. But Galina Rizanov Galina Ryazanova, a Moscow citizen, said: "All my Russian friends are on the VKontakte website and I don't think they will be attracted to Facebook." ”

In many English-speaking countries, Facebook does have a certain advantage. But in countries such as Germany and Russia, local rivals are more attractive. German StudiVZ and Russian VKontakte are far more local than Facebook, according to comscore, an Internet research agency.

July 18, Facebook filed a lawsuit against StudiVZ in California, accusing the latter of infringing copyright. According to Facebook, the STUDIVZ website design almost completely copied Facebook, but instead replaced Facebook's blue page theme with red.

In this respect, some analysts say this is just the beginning. Facebook may sue more imitators in the future, including the most successful Facebook imitators in China.
