Beijing time October 8 Morning News, Facebook (76.27,-1.29,-1.66%) announced in Tuesday that its mobile ad network from today onwards for all advertisers open.
Facebook launched its mobile ad network, Facebook audience receptacle ("FAN") this year in April, with the aim of distributing ads through mobile apps and opening up new sources of revenue.
But at the time, the ad was open only to a small number of advertisers and mobile apps. Starting today, Facebook's 1.5 million advertisers can buy fan ads and display them on any application.
In a statement, Facebook said early test results showed that fan's advertising was a success. The Facebook spokeswoman did not say how many mobile publishers were involved in the fan, but said the number would grow rapidly.
Facebook will face fierce competition in the mobile ad network market. Google (563.74,-13.61,-2.36%) has launched a AdMob service that allows advertisers to distribute ads to mobile apps, while Twitter (53.53, 0.04, 0.07%) has a MoPub ad network that covers 1 billion mobile users.
