Facebook stops Microsoft Bing: no longer shows web search

FACEBOOK12, 13th (Reuters)-Facebook has quietly rejected search results that include Microsoft Bing on its social networking site, the news agency reported. Facebook's culling of Bing searches comes as Facebook has revamped its search service, adding a tool this week that allows users to quickly find comments and other information posted on Facebook before their friends. The move has been confirmed by Facebook. We are no longer showing web search results in Facebook search because we are concentrating on helping people find what they share on Facebook, a spokesperson for the company, and we will continue to collaborate with Microsoft in many ways. Microsoft has yet to comment. Facebook's decision reflects the company's increased emphasis on web search technology, which is currently dominated by Google. Facebook founder Zuckerberg has listed the search as a key growth project for the company, noting in July this year that Facebook generates more than 1 billion search requests a day, fully reflecting the amount of information people share on Facebook, and eventually replacing web searches, Help people answer certain questions.
