"After 4 months of testing the Facebook deals, we decided to close the Facebook deals service in the next few weeks," Facebook said in a statement. We believe that people have many different ways to buy local business.  We have learned a lot from this test and we will continue to evaluate how best to serve the local business. Long ago, Facebook planned to launch a competition with Groupon and LivingSocial. Users can either use the credit card to participate in the group purchase, or directly with the Facebook credits virtual currency.
