The account has not been officially certified by Weibo, but according to Sina Technology, the microblogging staff said, "This account is indeed the official Facebook operation."

Facebook, in its introduction, wrote "Face book official Weibo, which brings you the world's most popular interesting graphics and text." So far, it has sent out 5 tweets, with fans about to break 100,000. Facebook has also run another account on Weibo: "The Facebook engineering team". This account has been stopped from being updated last year.

Facebook currently has 1.3 billion users worldwide, but it is still inaccessible in mainland China. Former Facebook founder and CEO Zuckerberg also visited China twice. Later, several executives, including COO Sandberg, came to China and even met with policymakers. It was rumored in July this year that Facebook rented 800 square metres of office in Beijing Jinrongjie.

But the location and size of the office, as well as the news after the visits by senior officials, suggest that Facebook should be doing only business-to-business business. "China's exporters and developers feel that Facebook is a good place to contact international clients and that our existing services and support are clearly not enough," said a Facebook VP Debbie Frost.
