The cloud computing platform enables organizations to leverage their IT hardware and software investments more effectively. Organizations can break down the physical barriers inherent in isolated systems through this infrastructure, and the management of systems clusters is as automated as a single entity. The cloud computing platform is the best choice for delivering information services, reducing IT management complexity, promoting innovation, and improving responsiveness through real-time workload balancing.
Here are a few scenarios to see what happens after using the cloud computing platform:
1 when you need to use the service resources:
Users can submit applications to use service resources online via a simple Web interface. They can specify the expected start and end dates for their projects. The data Center administrator can approve or reject the request. After approval, the automated Services management platform chooses the appropriate server, storage, operating system, and software resources from the pool of available resources, and deploys those resources according to the requested resource configuration. The user can only wait for a short time before they receive the information that the platform automatically sends, informing the user that the required resources have been deployed and ready for use.
2 When the service resources appear tense:
The virtual world requires a lot of computing power, especially when the virtual space expands or the number of logged-in users increases. The large multiplayer online game (MMPOG) is an example of a very large virtual world. Some commercially available virtual worlds have up to millions of registered users and are supported by thousands of servers.
Organizations hosting virtual worlds can display the current infrastructure usage through real-time monitors in the automated service management platform, or display the average response time for customers in any designated area of the virtual world. The enterprise found a significant increase in the number of users in area A, resulting in increased resource usage and slower response times, with fewer users and less load in the X and Y regions. This enables the enterprise to rebalance resources manually in the automated Services management platform. (Of course, we can also define the strategy of resource balance in advance, so that when resource usage is tense, the management platform can automatically trigger the corresponding action according to the defined policy) from X area and Y Zones are pulled out of 5 servers, and these 10 servers are provided to A zone for ease of load. After a few minutes, the 10 servers were reassigned and the process did not affect any user in any zone, and the response time of area A was also restored to an acceptable level. By recycling underutilized equipment, the enterprise greatly saves costs, maintains high customer satisfaction, avoids the need for users to call the Help Center for help, and completes work in minutes that took days or weeks to complete.
The user's main requirements for the cloud computing platform include:
Cloud computing platform is ideally a web-based Portal service form that allows users to easily log in and request the required resources. The platform should be automated or semi-automatic to discover the resources available in the datacenter and provide the user with a choice. The platform should be supported by the process engine and can integrate management processes such as ITIL, such as applications, approvals, reviews, and audits. The backend of the cloud computing platform should be a series of systems for deployment, monitoring and billing to meet user requirements for resource requests.
Automatic supply Users automate provisioning through role-based web portals. Users fill out a form on the portal site to define their hardware platform, CPU, memory, storage, operating system, middleware, and team members and their associated roles. The whole process takes about 5 minutes. After the request is submitted through the portal site, the data Center administrator is notified and logged in to approve, modify, and/or reject the request. Once approved, the system initiates a well-defined automated workflow to complete the deployment. Fully automated supply processes meet security requirements, reducing human-caused errors and dramatically reducing system deployment time.
Booking and scheduling When submitting a service request, the user is required to understand how long the resource is being used. Because the user is required to fill in the start and end times of the service when submitting the application, this makes it easier for the management of the data center to understand the resource usage. When the service reaches its end time, the system automatically reclaims the resource so that it can be used by other services that require resources. Of course the user can change the end time of the service, which is also one of the important functions of the management platform, which we will explain in the section below.
Change Management There are some unknown factors related to the development delay or new requirements that can be faced in some projects. These unknowns sometimes make it difficult to comply with the end date stipulated in the contract, especially when the end date is confirmed several months before the project is postponed. Therefore, the system allows the user to request an extension of their original contract end date.
Authorized project members can log on to the Platform portal and request an extension of the contract end date. The Data Center administrator evaluates the request from both resource capacity and business justification. An administrator can log on to the Web interface to view the request and approve the operation. Once the new date is approved, the corresponding task will be performed and the contract will be updated to reflect the new end date.
Change contract The cloud computing platform also provides change functionality for service request resources. For high-risk projects with new or untested technologies, it is often necessary to change the server's operating system, software, and other resources.
The contract change functionality of the cloud computing platform is flexible and allows users to add or remove software components from their existing systems or fully redeploy them with the operating system. Users can also add or remove servers from existing contracts, or, on compliant hardware systems, choose to increase or decrease the number of resources assigned to one or more virtual machines. When the change request is submitted, the whole system change operation is automatic, without human intervention, the system can complete the change request in a very short time, provide to the user.
