It's a waste of energy to stare at search engines every day to see how many pages it collects. In fact, even if your site is behaving normally, the number of pages included in the search engine will often produce relatively large fluctuations. In other conditions, the number of pages included in the decline is the only reason for the decline in site traffic, unless you can find a better reason to prove that the inclusion of the page caused by the flow of less or no relationship. In other words, if you reduce the number of pages in Google index by 30%, and these reduced pages do not bring traffic to your site, you can prove that the fall in the number of pages is not the reason for the decline in web traffic.
If your Web site is divided into www and no www two, you need to redirect one of them to another (using 301 errors to redirect). Doing so will delay the search traffic and reduce the number of pages included (especially when two URLs are highly ranked). In the long run, however, your site will benefit enormously.
If you know which pages are no longer indexed, you can try to change the navigation structure of the Web page to ensure that search engine spiders have more opportunities to find these buried pages. In addition, check the pages that are not included, and their content is duplicated on the site, and similar to the content on other sites. This may be difficult for some categories of directory sites because their content is mainly the sales information of the merchant. In general, unique, user-generated content (preferably with multiple internal and external links) should not be overlooked by search engines.
Number of internal links
Each engine to determine the method of linking is not the same, I hope that the number of links on each search engine can be stable and small fluctuations are unrealistic. If you determine that the drop in traffic is a problem with internal links within the site, it means that the search engine does not recognize certain pages. Some of the pages mentioned here may have been pointing to a Web site or a page that was being pointed at. So check the "certain page" URL is included in the search engine.
Another point looks simple, but the real thing to note is that if the external links to your site no longer exist, that means you no longer have the ability to get weights from external links. Remember that when you delete this page, be sure to redirect the URL of the page to a new page, even if the page has only one external link. (If you delete pages that are not ready to get new pages, then redirect to the home page) search engine is able to identify the link "good or bad", it knows which links can help your site, which links to your site is not good, which "nofollow" links from the network bookmarks or blog comments. High-quality, non-nofollowed links are beneficial to your site. If a site suddenly does not link to you, try to find out why. Perhaps the site has recently been redesigned to cause many external links to be lost. If so, try to contact the webmaster.
Another possible problem is that a site on your link restricts other sites and your links. Therefore, only high quality, dependency sites are linked. Make sure your site and links are relevant.
Third, from the natural search flow
These are the methods of diagnosing natural flow, and of course there are other methods to diagnose the causes of the decline in traffic. But summing up the above mentioned things, there will be more enlightenment:
To have priorities. The optimized site will perform well on some search engines, but not in other search engines. Based on the market share of each search engine, I can ignore the loss of website optimization on Yahoo and MSN relative to the importance of Google page rankings. After all, Google's traffic can make up for the loss of both sites in the long run.
Conversion rate is more important than flux. If the conversion rate from flow is stable or continuously increasing, there is no need to worry too much about the decline in flow. This only means that your target audience is becoming more accurate, and you are attracting customers who are really likely to bring you benefits.
