The Android Green Robot logo may now be a household label in the world. But its designers are obscure. Its designer named Irina-Braddock (Irina Blok), and now she has left Google.

Braddock may have designed the world's best-known logo, but her connection to the Android Green Robot has not fame her. The only thing she could think of to get her public attention was that in 2010, she took her 6-year-old daughter to the cinema to watch Alice in Wonderland (Alice in Wonderland). Before the movie began, an Android logo flashed on the screen. Her daughter suddenly stood up and exclaimed, "This is my mother's design!" Immediately, the audience in front of them turned to stare at them, and Braddock was so embarrassed that he quickly blocked his face with a popcorn bucket.

The Android logo was born three years ago, when Braddock was a designer at Google. As Google prepares to use the Android software platform for mobile devices, Braddock and his design team are instructed to design a logo-an icon that consumers can easily remember. Google asked that the logo must contain a robot, so she started researching sci-fi toys and space movies to find inspiration. Finally, she was inspired by the graphic symbols on the men's and women's toilet doors. She drew a simple robot whose torso was shaped like a tin can and had two antennas on its head.

In the course of the design, Braddock and his colleagues agreed that the logo should be as open as Android software. "We decided that the logo should be open and that everyone could make a personalized makeover," he said. "It's a very bold idea," she said. "You know, at the time, most companies were adamant about defending their trademarks, banning plagiarism, or even spending millions of of dollars on lawsuits." However, the Android logo is always open.

Since then, there have been a variety of personalized variants of the Android logo: it is sometimes dressed like a ninja, sometimes on skis or skateboards, and sometimes becomes Superman. The process of designing this logo is like giving birth to a child: "You gave it life and it started its own life," Braddock said. ”

Now, Bullock has become the creative director of Edmodo, a social learning network for teachers and students.
