Two weeks ago we released a huge improvement to Windows Http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/13357.html ">azure, as well as Windows Azure SDK a major update.

This morning, we released another large group of Windows Azure enhancements. New features now include:

Storage: Import/export hard drive to Windows Azure

I am very excited to announce our new Windows Azure Import/Export Service preview!

Windows Azure Import/Export service, which allows you to deposit large amounts of local data or present your Windows Azure storage account. Enables you to directly and securely interact with the hard drive of our Windows Azure Data Center to achieve this functionality. Once we receive the drive we will automatically transfer data from your Windows Azure storage account or transfer data to your Windows Azure storage account. This allows you to import or export large amounts of data faster, efficiently, and cheaply (regardless of network factors).

Encrypted transmission

Our Import/export service provides built-in BitLocker disk encryption support-used to securely encrypt data on your hard disk before you send it. Even if disk data is lost/stolen in transit, you do not have to worry about damage (because the contents of the transport's hard drive are completely encrypted, You are the only person who has a secret key. The driver Readiness Tool we are about to release today makes it easier for BitLocker to encrypt hard drives.

How to import/export your first hard drive data

You can read our Getting Started Guide to learn more about how to get started with the import/export service. You can create import/export work through Windows Azure and by using the server Management APIs.

Creating a new Import/export task using the Windows Azure Management portal is simple. Simply open the Windows Azure Storage account, and then click the New Import/Export tab in the account (note: If you do not have this tab, make sure to sign the import/Export preview):

hdinsight:100% compatible with Hadoop's cloud services.

Last week we announced the release of the general performance of Windows Azure hdinsight. Hdinsight is a 100%-compatible Hadoop service that allows you to easily provide and manage the large data processing in the Hadoop cluster about Windows Azure. This version has now been integrated into Enterprise SLAs, 24x7 Microsoft Support, and ready for product scenarios.

When Windows Azure blobs handle large amounts of data storage, Hdinsight allows you to use Apache Hadoop tools such as pig and hive. Because the data is stored in Windows Azure blob memory, you can choose to dynamically create the Hadoop cluster when you need it, and when they no longer need to, close them (you only need to pay for the time that the Hadoop cluster instance is running, This way of using them provides superior cost-effectiveness.

Today's launch of the import/export of hard drive support, is the use of hdinsight a perfect companion service – Such a combination allows you to easily extract, process and selectively export unlimited amounts of data. We also integrate Hdinsight with our business intelligence tools, enabling users to leverage familiar tools to analyze output work such as Excel.
