Cisco announced in Monday that it would work with Xerox to develop a new mobile printing system that would make it easier and easier for employees to print. It is reported that Cisco Channel Partners will be agents to sell this through the Xerox data center released technology and related http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/13744.html "> Management Services." Xerox Data Center is built using Cisco UCS (Unified Computing System) server. With a mobile print system, employees can send files from smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices to a department. Then, the employee can use any one of the company's printers, enter the encoding of the file, and finally easily print it out.

Rob Whiteley, a research analyst at Rob Whitley, a market researcher, said this might help overcome one of the problems that mobile devices and virtual desktops face in the process of enterprise popularization. Whitley said: "The company's interest in completing these changes is very high, printing this kind of thing will not be as complex as now, will become a very easy to solve things." ”

A common practice in printing files from a mobile device is that the file is e-mailed to someone next to the printer for him to help print. In addition to ease of use and time-consuming effort, this approach may circumvent corporate security policies and make it impossible to monitor people who browse or save files. Angel Boyd Angele Boyd, an analyst at IDC, said mobile device printing became increasingly important as users became more reliant on cellphones and tablets, but the technology was still in its infancy.

"The architecture doesn't exist today," says Boyd. Xerox launched the mobile printing system early this year, but only for enterprise or system integrators to deploy and configure. Other vendors, including Hewlett-Packard, a Cisco competitor, have launched such systems. According to Xerox and Cisco's vision, the two sides will work hard to perfect the technology.

The two companies will implant the print agent into Cisco routers and switches, starting with the integrated Service router (ISR). The Integrated services router is a multipurpose router designed for small businesses and large corporate offices. They will also use Cisco wide-area networks to accelerate products to help speed up the printing process, while leveraging Cisco security tools to ensure that information is not published to the wrong object.

The technology does not require Cisco networks to get involved. Xerox's goal is to make it work with other manufacturers ' printers, as well as with the user's external printers, such as the printers in the customer's office. Cisco and Xerox will be the first to use the mobile printing function in three products. The Xerox Management Printing Service (MPS) based on Cisco Borderless Network (borderless NX) is a software product developed by Xerox to enable companies to promote mobile print services among their employees.

The software leverages the advantages of the network operating system (IOS) of Cisco network devices to provide security, WAN optimization, and print supervision for mobile printing. Cisco Channel partners can also use Xerox MPs to provide these services to enterprises. It is estimated that Xerox MPs service should be released from July this year through Cisco's channel partners in the United States and will be launched in Europe from next January.

Xerox Cloud Ito Service is a set of SME launch services, including mobile printing. They will run on the Xerox Data center and Vblock architecture built via Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) server, which consists of Cisco Network and Computing systems, EMC storage systems, and VMware virtual software. These services will be sold through Cisco channels. Xerox and Cisco said the services could only be introduced in a limited area and could be replicated next January.

The two sides will also develop customer software specifically for Cisco Cius Business Tablet PCs and Cisco virtual Experience client devices. Virtual experience client device uses business desktop system, can provide users with virtual desktop system. Xerox Mobile Printing solution will enable users of these customers to print files securely within the company. The software is expected to be launched as early as the Cius Tablet PC May 31.
