Today, when it comes to cloud applications and integrations, the development team often faces an unknown area. As more and more services can be run on the cloud computing platform, the related development of cloud computing is becoming more and more important. Cloud computing is the only way developers can provide customers with better reliability and added value, says Shlomo Swidler, founder of cloud computing consultancy Orchestratus. To achieve successful application development in cloud computing, Swidler highlighted the following points: Using efficient cloud APIs, owning a service-oriented, robust component architecture in the right place, and making the right deployment and management choices.
In the past, delivery patterns were realistic and visible, and companies could mail their hardware to customers or other forms of delivery. But now, most successful companies provide customers with fast, easy online access. If the customer is not available, then the service fails.
By reducing the time that developers use to write some type of code, cloud computing can help accelerate the delivery process, Swidler said. It also reduces waste of time. "No more time to wait for hardware from the manufacturer," he explains. "With cloud computing, you have instant access to hardware." ”
"It may sound counterintuitive, and if the supplier has more control, then the reliability of your delivery in cloud computing is likely to be higher, but it is indeed," Swidler continued. "Whenever a supplier provides you with a service, the fact that it is based on cloud computing means that you can control the service through the API." ”
Cloud APIs, schemas, and deployments
In fact, efficient cloud APIs are key to successful cloud applications and integrated design. They enable developers to reconfigure applications and integration components without having to modify or write new code. "Make sure that all this--I mean everything--has an API," Swidler suggested.
"The service requires both parties to communicate with each other through APIs so that you can flexibly reconfigure them when you need them." "This means faster, simpler failure recovery.
Swidler recommends that each service be decomposed into a series of smaller, more manageable components. Once in the cloud, these services can run, scale, and recover independently. "The impact of downtime has been completely eliminated," he said. "This also makes it easier to optimize the individual widgets relative to the one-time optimization of all large components." ”
When migrating from traditional hardware to cloud computing, developers must make choices in IaaS, PAAs, or customer hardware. The right choice is the key to successful cloud application. In making this deployment choice, developers should consider the complexity of the application and the number of controls needed, Swidler said. "Now you can deploy relatively simple applications on PAAs and deploy more complex applications on IaaS," he added.
Regardless of the deployment approach, all cloud planning requires a solid management strategy. When migrating to cloud computing, it is important to be able to track, monitor, and visualize the aspects associated with the application. "Finding the right management framework will help you extract low-level management and incorporate into higher-level architectures, such as managing a single stack or serving as a unit," Swidler suggested.
