&http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/37954.html ">nbsp; For most data centers today, the core issues associated with installing blade servers are related to power supply and thermal distribution. The problem of heat dissipation distribution is the main limiting factor.

has five basic methods for cooling the blade server. Once one of these methods is selected, it can be implemented in a variety of different products and methods. outlined in table 1.

To apply a blade server, you must select one of the methods. This choice is based on current facilities constraints and user needs and preferences.

Selection of application methods

To understand the constraints of existing facilities and to make the appropriate trade-offs between the user's various needs and preferences, you can choose from the 5 basic methods described earlier. The choice of application method of Blade server is based on heat dissipation problem, because these are the most important constraints in the actual system. Once the application method is identified, the power supply problem is determined. The main uncertainty affecting the way the

is applied is the density of the blade server. Many users prefer to install blade servers at maximum density. This is often not an appropriate choice in an existing data center environment. In fact, most blades use modular rack structures that can be installed in cabinets at lower densities. For example, IBM BladeCenter uses a separate rack that can be installed in a cabinet ranging from 1 to 6 blades. While reducing the installation density does not seem to give full play to the blades, the cost, availability, and installation speed of the system is increased, particularly in the case of a blade server installed in an existing data center environment.

Many of the current data center designs have a power density of 2kW or lower per cabinet. These blades require a large amount of power and cooling to be installed in such an environment at the power of each cabinet 10-30kw, which is disproportionate to the original design of the machine room. For this reason, saving space when installing blades in an existing data center is usually not a practical benefit. Therefore, it is both practical and cost-effective to place blade servers in existing data centers. Installing blade servers in saturated densities is usually more cost-effective in a newly built room facility designed to support high-density solutions-a large installation or a very small space.

Therefore, the core choice for blade installation is the fragmentation of blade installation-How many blades are installed in each cabinet. The brand and model of the blades selected by the user may constrain the degree of fragmentation of the blades, for example, by using a separate rack for some blade servers, which can be easily dispersed and installed. Other blades use a backplane system that makes it impractical to distribute the installation. For a more comprehensive and detailed discussion of this issue, see "APC application Instructions" related to specific blade server branding. Following the five main blade server application methods described above, the application density of the blade server is planned, and the results are shown in table 2.

Table 2 shows that of the 30 different power densities and combinations of applications, there are about 11 preferred combinations and 7 critical combinations-a total of 18 more practical combinations of applications. To choose the best solution, you must compare the thousands of user preferences, constraints, and existing conditions with these 18 application methods. This comparison requires extensive analysis and follows many rules, a process that can be performed like a software operation. There is no detailed description here.
