Facebook tests "Burn after read" feature to set the time to burn messages

A handful of users first found this feature on their iOS clients and posted it on Twitter. According to these screenshots, Facebook allows users to choose when to post messages for deletion, with 1-hour, 3-hour, 7-day options.

A Facebook spokeswoman confirmed the new functional test to the media in Wednesday, but its specific timing has not been disclosed.
The feature is somewhat similar to what Facebook has been trying to do with the "Burn after" app. This June, Facebook launched a "burn-after-read" video chat application slingshot.
