Future cloud services will evolve into similar power sources

As one of the important development trends of IT industry, cloud computing has been widely accepted by the industry. IBM, Microsoft, Yahoo, Sun, EMC, Google and many other it well-known enterprises are beginning to work to provide a wide range of cloud computing services. Cloud-based external service providers will also be widely used, most of the enterprise data will be stored in the cloud, more than 90% of computing tasks will be completed through the cloud. Most of the work of the enterprise IT departments will be outsourced to the business service providers that provide cloud computing services.

According to CEB of the US Enterprise Executive committee, until 2015, many companies will significantly reduce IT departments, or even only about One-fourth of the current size, and four-fifths of the future IT budget will be paid to outsourced business service providers. The forecast trend for the IT industry is as pervasive as electricity, and all businesses will need to focus on IT services as they buy power now, rather than spending a lot of their resources on it.

Such an intensive integration of the way is certainly beneficial to the development of the industry, but the new and old replacement will inevitably bring a variety of problems, including the original model of subversive labor.

CEB predicts that in the next 5 years, enterprise it up to 80% of the implementation of the expenditure will be external services, the size of the IT department will gradually shrink, the enterprise independent IT department will gradually disappear. IT professionals should not be alarmed, however, and as this shift takes place, the role of the IT department in the enterprise will shift from a technology provider to a technology broker. In the future, the role of the IT department will gradually shift to business services, into business roles, or externalized. These it functions, such as policy, architecture, risk, planning management, consumer support, and customer relationship management, will be integrated into the business service hierarchy, not exclusive to it job functions. In other words, future IT pros will integrate with the business, an IT professional is both a technician and a business service person. In the new trend, IT Pros are not the only people who don't need it or the configuration of this type of person, IT professionals are actually given new functions, and more people with it expertise and service functions will be sought after. Therefore, in the advent of cloud computing tide, IT professionals should also be prepared, positive transformation, in order to make themselves invincible.
