Create IP groups and add IP ranges for each IP group

If you do not use the default user Cbadmin, users with full cloud management permissions can perform this step.

An IP group is a logical grouping of IP addresses used by a particular virtual Machine Manager. Your http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/14045.html > network administrator can assign a larger range of IP addresses to the cloud. As a cloud administrator, you can create an IP group that has a large IP address pool that is shared between all virtual machine management programs in a cloud group, as shown in Figure 1. This simplifies the management of cloud groups and ensures that all virtual machines to be deployed have access to the same subnet.

Another option is to fragment the available IP addresses into multiple IP groups. Each virtual Machine Manager then uses an IP group. The advantage of this is that you can clearly understand which virtual machine management program uses which IP addresses. The downside is that if you have a large number of hypervisor programs, it's hard to manage them and make mistakes easily. For example, if you need to add an IP address to each group, you must modify each IP group. If the subnets in different virtual machine managers are different, the virtual machines you create may not be able to communicate with each other. The example settings are shown in Figure 27.

Before an IP address can be assigned to an IP group, the IP address should be resolved through DNS. If the IP group requires more IP addresses, you can always return to the change IP address.

We have come to the experience of placing the IP groups used by virtual machine management programs in a cloud group on the same subnet.

When deploying virtual systems or virtual applications, workload Deployer automatically assigns IP addresses to virtual machines through one-to-one mapping. When an IP group does not have an idle IP address, deploying a virtual system or virtual application acquires resources. A good idea is to assign a sufficient number of IP addresses to the IP group.

This section describes how to create a new IP group and add an IP range to the new group.

Open the IP Groups window

The IP Groups window can be reached through two paths.

Click Welcome, and then click Setting up your private cloud. Go to step 2:set up the cloud and click Add IP groups link.
