HP launches new product to lay cloud computing Foundation

HP today announced the launch of HP Virtualsystem for Microsoft to help customers accelerate application implementation and reduce the complexity of IT management to meet the growing demand for IT applications and lay the groundwork for cloud computing.

HP Virtualsystem for Microsoft is a comprehensive, integrated technology stack that includes hardware infrastructure, operating environments, and applications to help customers reduce the complexity of deploying and managing virtual environments. Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft announced in January 2010 to invest 250 million of dollars in infrastructure to application (I2A) projects, while HP Virtualsystem for Microsoft was the latest solution for the project.

HP's tight integration with Microsoft technology can provide the required performance and flexibility for managed applications such as Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Exchange Server, and Microsoft SQL Server. Integrated management software based on HP Insight control and Microsoft System Center ensures that customers understand the health and performance of the hardware, operating systems, and applications of the solution.

"Enterprise applications typically involve multiple servers and different addresses, making technology deployments complex and providing a barrier to cloud computing," said Paul Miller, vice president of HP Server, storage and network division systems and Solutions. With HP Virtualsystem for Microsoft, customers can run common applications such as Exchange Server and SharePoint in a simplified virtualized environment to further improve efficiency and ease the transition to an open hybrid cloud. ”

HP Virtualsystem for Microsoft employs the same architecture as HP Cloudsystem, allowing customers to deploy private, public, and mixed cloud environments. HP Virtualsystem for Microsoft also combines Microsoft Private Cloud Fast Track to provide customers with standardized, cost-effective deployments that reduce the risk of unplanned outages and improve performance.
