Recently, Hewlett-Packard Company in Las Vegas held the Discover conference announced its public cloud upgrade content. But the announcement is more about optimistic marketing than the product itself, and the fact that HP's public cloud has no real function to meet with anyone until this fall. From the release, HP and other typical cloud service providers have a certain difference. In general, cloud providers display the available technical results while disclosing information.
The virtual private cloud feature allows users to choose whether to open their own instance to the Internet-a feature that already exists in the three major cloud platforms, namely Azure's "virtual network", Google's "virtual private network" and the "virtual Private cloud" of AWS. Although Hewlett-Packard claims that this feature can be implemented in the software definition network, it still cannot provide administrators with the same flexible routing access options as Google Compute engine.
HP also allows customers to create system mirrors for their cloud servers and upload images to HP Cloud mirroring management Services. This feature is also available in Azure (that is, custom virtual machines), Google (custom mirroring), and Amazon (custom AMI).
For any cloud system, the bulk upload of data makes users headache. So HP has adopted the first attempt by Amazon Web Services to allow the enterprise user's main drive to connect directly to HP's data center, and to deliver information through the channel. Google has not yet provided such functionality, and Microsoft has not officially supported it. However, as long as customers express their wishes, I believe they will accept this proposal.
HP's rental hardware is also upgraded, and by creating new instance types, users can use powerful processing resources that contain 16 virtual cores and 120GB of memory. In this respect HP does give competitors a lot of pressure, in contrast Azure only provides A7 eight core plus 56GB memory example, Google also has only eight core plus 52GB n1-highmen-8 instance. But Hewlett-Packard is still less than the standard Amazon custom-built, with its 32 core plus 244GB cr1.8x optimized for memory so that peers can only exclaiming.
While these specifications are only incremental and not enough to help HP stand out from its current mainstream competitor (excluding its new instance type, which does have a competitive advantage), we still expect the company to gradually introduce more attractive technology in the future. For example, continuous integration is a service or provides an instance of an moonshot host for a dense, leased computing cluster. These features have not yet been officially confirmed, but Roger Levy, chief executive of Hewlett-Packard, gave a hint during last week's discussion with the Register website.
Although HP insists on calling its cloud service "enterprise-class", it is hard to find the right definition for corporate users. The so-called "Enterprise class" feature, which is now published, seems to be more like the functionality needed by companies that specialize in consumer-oriented businesses.
