Beijing time January 27 Morning News, PC website reported that Oracle and Samsung will reach a new agreement to cooperate in developing mobile cloud computing services.
At a meeting in Thursday, Oracle's joint CEO Hurd and Samsung Mobile Hurd Shen Zongjun discussed the details of the partnership. The partnership will help Oracle strengthen its database cloud computing solution while expanding Samsung's opportunities in the corporate marketplace.
Samsung has previously reached a partnership agreement with Microsoft and SAP. Samsung recently denied that it would buy blackberries, but said it would strengthen its ties with the BlackBerry. Oracle declined to comment on the news, while Samsung did not respond.
In the second quarter of fiscal year 2015, released last December, Oracle announced that software and cloud computing revenue grew 5% to $7.3 billion trillion, while cloud computing software-services, platform-services, and infrastructure-services revenues rose 45% to $516 million trillion.
Charles King, Pund analyst, believes that the collaboration between Oracle and Samsung will be similar to the strategic partnership between IBM and Apple. "If the rumors about Samsung's pursuit of BlackBerry are accurate, it is particularly important for Oracle," he said. Although BlackBerry is less than usual, the company still has a large market in private companies and listed companies, and Oracle and Samsung will do business in this area. ”
Ray Wang, an analyst at Constellation Research, said that how to make a technology customized would be another key development driver because of the rapid popularity of mobile devices within the enterprise. "Many companies are still exploring how to manage all these devices," he says. ”
By partnering with Samsung, Oracle will have access to a wider range of software outlets and opportunities to open up consumer markets. For Samsung, the corporate market has a higher profit margin than the company's current focus on consumer markets.
