Following the launch of a new generation of SPARC T4 servers in September 2011, Oracle recently unveiled its latest technology roadmap for SPARC servers and Solaris operating systems. Oracle System division director Marshall Choy said in an interview recently that in the next five years Oracle will apply SPARC processors to two server product lines, the T-Series energy-efficient servers and M-series high-end business-critical servers.

"According to the SPARC processor performance upgrade plan, the SPARC processor will be able to handle up to 40 times times the current capacity by 2015, and it will reach 128 cores and 16,384 threads, 4 times times and 32 times times, respectively." "Choy said. He said that with the increase in SPARC processor performance, SPARC server upgrades will also be accelerated, SPARC T5 server will be listed ahead of schedule, testing has begun at this stage.

Choy emphasizes that Oracle Solaris 11 is a collection of new features that contain more than 2,700 projects and more than 400 innovative results. At the same time, it is an enterprise-class operating system developed for cloud computing that enables secure and fast service deployment in a large-scale cloud environment.
