Singapore Telecom and SAP reach agreement to push cloud computing business

At present, two companies have launched a cloud-based enterprise management business, targeting small and medium-sized enterprises in Singapore. Under the agreement, SAP's Business One application is being hosted on the cloud infrastructure of new Telecom. SAP's Business One application provides customers with access to all aspects of business management, including sales, logistics, inventory, and customer relationship Management (CRM). Users will be able to access SAP's business in mobile via mobile terminals that support Internet capabilities, and the app also applies to iphone and ipad users.

Bill Chang, executive vice president of the new telecom business group, said the two sides have launched a business dedicated to covering all vertical areas of SMEs. He revealed that the number of new telecom cloud computing users in the past 11 months increased by 50%, to 150,000 households. And added that the company hopes to attract more cloud users by partnering with Google's successful cloud computing.

He also said that the boom in mobile terminals and the impending relocation of new Telecom to LTE have built the right development environment for the cloud computing business for mobile workers.

New telecoms and SAP say SMEs are expected to save up to 60% of operating costs after using their businesses.
