You can use the Chown command to change the ownership of the file. The first object is that the desired username and group ownership for the file is separated by a colon (:), followed by the filename. In the following example, we changed the ownership of the file named Text.txt, from the root and root groups to the TestUser user and the Users group:

[Root@bigboy tmp]# ll test.txt-rw-r--r--1 root root 0 modified 22:14 test.txt[root@bigboy-tmp]# chown testuser:users test.txt[ Root@bigboy tmp]# ll test.txt-rw-r--r--1 testuser users 0 Modified-22:14 test.txt[root@bigboy tmp]#

You can also use the Chown command followed by the-R parameter, which recursively searches the directory and changes its permissions.
