May 19, according to the produced website, people familiar with the matter said that YouTube, Google's video website, had reached a takeover deal with Twitch, a streaming video company, which would buy the latter with more than $1 billion in cash.

People familiar with the matter said the deal was expected to be announced soon and become one of YouTube's most important acquisitions ever. Google put YouTube under its command in 2006 with $1.65 billion trillion. Earlier this year, Susan Wojcicki, the executive responsible for Google's advertising business, was named YouTube's new CEO, Susan Vosiki. Currently, both YouTube and Twitch spokesmen declined to comment.

Twitch, a streaming media video company based in San Francisco, was founded in June 2011 with the founder of Justin Kan and Amite Cher (Emmett shear). Twitch is also Justin.tv's independent operating site focused on game-related content. At present, Shea is the CEO of the company. Twitch users can upload and watch game videos for free, which can be played via the Microsoft Xbox and Sony PS4 game hosts.

The company says its platform has more than 45 million monthly subscribers and more than 1 million users each month uploading their videos. In 2012, Twitch a partnership with CBS Interacitve, an interactive media company owned by CBS, whose two professional gaming information website GameSpot and Giant Bomb will sell exclusive ads to Twitch.

In 2011, Twitch Company received about $35 million in financing, including Bessemer Venture, Alsop Louie, Westsummit Interactive Software, Thrive Capital and Draper Associates.

One of Twitch's rivals is major League Gaming. Data show that in March 2014, Twitch accounted for 1.35% of North America's downstream bandwidth (downstream bandwidth), a figure 3 times times last August.

As the world's largest Internet video platform, YouTube has more than 6 billion hours of video each month, with 1 billion users worldwide. People close to the situation said Youtub's deal with Twitch would be subject to scrutiny by US regulators.
