Former Wonga CEO Uber International Head of Business

SAN FRANCISCO, June 26 (Xinhuanet) Uber Uber has hired Niall Wass, the former CEO of Microfinance UK Network, to take charge of its international business expansion.

Gas joined Uber earlier this month, according to a company spokesman whose official titles are Europe, the Middle East and Africa ("EMEA") and senior vice presidents in the Asia Pacific region, whose specific duties are to lead and expand International business in EMEA and Asia Pacific. The spokesman said: "As we continue to expand our international business, Neal brings Uber an important business expertise."

According to the website of Wonga, Gas was COO (Chief Operating Officer) of the company in January 2012, and then was promoted to CEO in December 2013. In May of this year, he left Wonga after serving as CEO for six months.

Wonga has sent a lawyer's letter to a defaulting client from a fake law firm, which said Wednesday that the company will need to pay 2.6 million to customers who received a letter of counsel between 2008 and 2010, according to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) on Wednesday British pound (about 4.4 million US dollars).
