Vindigo was acquired by a Japanese company in 2004 (the founder of the future Foursquare was laid off and moved to New Hampshire as a ski coach) and eventually closed in 2008. Before dodgeball, Crowley said, he "spent three or four years thinking, I will meet some good engineers to help me achieve all the ideas," but since then, he decided to learn to program, and his own attempt.  He said that only a prototype product could "attract other people/investors to participate". Don't let anyone tell you that your idea won't work. Crowley admits that he had been confused for years before he realized this, but he finally realized: "The way I look at the world is likely to be different than those who think I'm excited about things that don't work." "If you're passionate about an idea,, "then find a way to do it so that you can prove to yourself that it does not work." "Start early, be frequent." With Dogeball, Crowley said he and another co-founder "are offering imperfect products several times a week." What worries us more is how to get users to get products as quickly as possible, rather than making sure they are perfect or really workable.  "He is still pursuing this practice. Finally, he says, startups should "hire the best people". In addition, Crowley responded to criticism and Facebook's challenges. No matter what happens, he says, don't be distracted: "If your product finally starts to take off, go ahead and hang in there." "The total number of Foursquare users has recently exceeded 4 million, with a milestone of less than 2 months away from 3 million users, although a new survey by Pew, a US market research agency, found that most netizens did not use geolocation services.
