Frugalware Linux is an independently developed Universal Desktop Linux distribution, which is intended for intermediate users. It follows the Slackware-style http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/12872.html "> Compact design concept and includes Pacman package management utility from Arch Linux.

The Frugalware Developer Team are pleased to announce the immediate availability of Frugalware 1.4rc1, the The Upcoming 1.4 Stable release.

Here are some of the major improvements, fixes and updates since:

Package Updates:

· Linux 2.6.36.2
· Firefox 3.6.13, Chromium 10.0.616.0
· Midnight Commander 4.7.5

New Features:

· New LCD font rendering available in GNOME. If use digital video output, this'll improve font appearance.
· OSSv4 super-delegates been added. Feel free to try it out if your have issues with ALSA.
Systemd is now available as a alternative of sysvinit.
