Fujitsu begins to grow in storage

Recently, Fujitsu has gradually begun to kick in the storage sector. Following last week's release of Eternus DX8700 S2 products with automated storage tiering technology, DX S2 Enterprise and SME-level storage products will be released in succession.

It is reported that the release of the Eternus DX8700 S2 has the following salient features:

Specifically, the Eternus DX8700 S2 supports a maximum of 8 controllers, with a minimum of 2 controllers, which can support up to 3072 SAS 2.5-inch drives or 1536-inch drives. It can also be configured with up to 32 host interfaces. With a 3TB 3.5-inch drive, the S2 has a maximum bare capacity of 4.6PB and a logical capacity of 3.6PB.

The storage core functionality of the product is contained in its Eternus DX software, and the licenses authorization for this software will be charged based on the number of controllers used by the user rather than the more common data capacity. Eternus DX8700 S2 is primarily geared toward multiple open systems environments and virtualized infrastructures, and can deliver mission-critical reliability, saving unnecessary costs and protecting user investment.

According to another introduction, Eternus DX8700 S2 will be officially listed on January 31 next year sales.
